Job description

miDiagnostics is at the forefront of releasing its first product, an ultra-fast PCR test, into the market. To enable this market introduction and the rapid international growth ambitions of the company, we are looking for a senior professional in Business Development & Sales. As our Business Development & Sales Manager, you will explore and identify new business opportunities and channels, negotiate and close commercial deals via direct and indirect channels, as well as building out the miDiagnostics sales processes and sales team. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.


Your responsibilities will include:

Business Development

  • You support the CCO in defining, evolving, and implementing the business development and distribution strategies and tactics for the company;
  • You identify potential customer segments and profiles with your knowledge of the industry, you explore and identify new sales channels (product-market combinations)and accordingly select and define possible distribution strategies;
  • You build out a strong global network with potential clients, commercial partners and key decision-makers;
  • You stay ahead of trends in the market and ensure a competitive sales positioning for miDiagnostics;

Sales management

  • You are responsible to build up the client portfolio of miDiagnostics, you hunt for new clients and close commercial deals;
  • You proactively build a sales funnel for the miDiagnostics products;
  • You meet and exceed the annual sales targets;
  • You put in place the necessary sales reporting and monitoring dashboards (sales activity, margin, trends, market share…) to ensure sales performance and continuous improvement;
  • You work closely with marketing and the development teams providing real-time feedback from customers;
  • You build out the sales team and put in place the required sales processes;
  • You ensure appropriate sales & product training for the team, including ‘in-the-field’ coaching;
  • You represent miDiagnostics at internal and external sales events, conferences…

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering, Business or equivalent;
  • Proven experience to build, lead, and engage high-energy, productive sales teams;
  • Min 7- 10 years of proven successful sales management experience, preferably in the diagnostics industry;
  • Experience hunting and penetrating new accounts and relationships;
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills;
  • Expert in navigating complex decision making processes;
  • Master consultative selling skills;
  • Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills;
  • Highly customer-centric with a strong business acumen;
  • Ability to prioritize, set and achieve targets;
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills;
  • Product launch experience;
  • A true team player with strong external and internal stakeholder management skills;
  • An agile mindset: pro-active, ability to work in a high-paced and changing environment, flexibility to move and support the business as needed;
  • Our offices are located in Leuven (Belgium). Local presence and business travel based on our commercial needs is required.
