Job description
With the launch of our rapid COVID 19 PCR test, we are currently seeking a Buyer to join our rapidly expanding “Manufacturing & Supply Chain” team. You will be a crucial player in building out our production and supply chain activities now that we are moving from a research focused organization into a commercial organization.
As our Buyer, you are part of the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Group and the primary function is to manage the supplier relationships of a range of External Vendors in an effective and economic manner as well as execute supply strategic plan to insure efficiency & smooth operations between miDIAGNOSTICS and its suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and drive supplier’s operations including but not limited to: Manufacturing, Capacity Management, Cost Controls, Quality and work standards;
- Support/Lead supplier management activities such as; business reviews, manage under-performing suppliers, and identifying continuous supplier development improvement opportunities;
- Support/lead the development of sourcing strategies from strategy, bidders list, proposal evaluations, supplier selection. Contribute to the contract development process;
- Partner with Supply Chain, Engineer, R&D, and finance teams so that suppliers meet the required performance standards: delivery, quality and cost;
- Execute short & long term supply plan and ensure timely delivery of purchase orders (expedite/de-expedite);
- Coordinate and follow up with supplier, carriers, and others, as appropriate, to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling and movement of materials;
- Coordinate logistic activities with carriers including the preparation of customs documentation when required;
- Oversee the indirect & R&D purchasing as well as be a key referent for the process in the dedicated platform;
- Structure and rationalize indirect & R&D purchasing strategy toward key partners, driving efficiency & cost optimization;
- Follow up any claims to suppliers that may arise on purchased materials.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or logistics;
- 3-4 years of experience in a structured Procurement environment;
- Knowledge in supplier management, including contract management and relationship management, leading inter-functional teams
- Good experience in MRP/ systems supported planning;
- Strong planning and organization skills;
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset, decisive;
- Fluent in English (written and verbal);
- Ability to build trustful relationships and to work collaboratively across the organization and with external stakeholders;
- Ability to think and act with patients and customers in mind and to translate that into actions across the end-to-end supply chain;
- You thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment, you are a real entrepreneur;
- You appreciate working in an open space amongst enthusiastic, multidisciplinary and international colleagues;
- Our offices are located in Leuven (Belgium). Relocation to Belgium is needed. It is essential that you hold entitlement to work and live in Belgium.
