
Lab Operator (temporary position)

Job description
We are looking for a Lab Operator, on a temporary basis (with eventually an option on a fixed contract), in order to reinforce our Assay Development team during a few months.
Our Lab Operator will be part of a revolutionary and innovative project.
Some of the tasks are:
- Works task-oriented, works accurately and is able to complete the assignment consistently and responsibly;
- Supports preparation activities for training and demo sessions;
- Keeps the work environment clean and hygienic. Is responsible for cleaning the clean room, labs, workplaces and machines;
- The Lab Operator supports the Lab Coordinator in the daily maintenance activities (lab inspection, material stocking, cleaning, waste management, equipment checking). This involves processes carried out in a clean room and a lab and involves handling chemicals and silicon (chip technology);
- Participates in work meetings and work distribution discussions, in order to achieve an efficient work organization;
- Reports irregularities and thinks constructively about solutions and implements solutions;
- Strives for continuous improvement of lab space and usage;
- Supports in writing documentation for lab equipment and work instructions;
- Takes care of lab logistics, waste disposal and cleaning;
Job requirements
- High School diploma or Bachelor (orientation: molecular biology, lab sciences or biochemistry);
- Practical experience in molecular biology laboratories is a plus;
- Organization skills and an eye for detail, with a strong focus on delivering quality;
- Enjoy working on a routine basis:
- Attaches importance to carrying out tasks exactly as described, following applicable Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions;
- Attaches great importance to safety on the work floor, following applicable safety rules and regulations;
- Interested in understanding what you are doing and convinced that your contribution to a good product is important in the entire product process;
- Good communication skills and a strong team player;
- Eager to learn and willing to try new things;
- Knowledge of English is required;
- Entitled to live and work in Belgium.
